This iteration of The Plastic Sea was presented as part of the Brooklyn Public Library’s University Open Air event in Prospect Park. The project began with a public workshop where participants collectively wove discarded plastic into a growing textile surface. Once assembled, the piece was activated through a collective movement around the lake, transforming the installation into a temporary procession. The action blurred the line between sculpture and performance, turning the landscape into a shared stage for reflection, play, and environmental awareness.
